We started as a one-bay muffler shop on Fenkell — pipe, bender, welder, a coffee pot. Two decades later we’re a full-service neighborhood garage, and we still do most of our own pipework on-site. The benders are newer. The standards are the same.
Most of our customers come in because their cousin or co-worker told them to. That’s the way we like it. A referral is the only marketing that matters in this business, and the only way to earn one is to do good work and charge a fair price.
We rebranded from Xpress Muffler to Detroit Express Muffler to make one thing clearer: we’re a Detroit shop, run by Detroit people, serving Detroit drivers. Honest scoping, fair pricing, same-day work. Open seven days.

If we ever break one of these, call us out. Ask for the owner. We mean it.
Show, don’t sell
We put the worn parts on the counter and walk you through them. If we can’t show you why something needs replacing, we don’t replace it.
